Redragon makes good keyboards at reasonable price points. I recommend them to everyone who asks. No frills, all keyboard. I bought this keyboard for my fiancee as she likes mechanical blue switch keyboards. I've owned a K552 model for about 3 years, which is about twice as expensive. However, this is one of Redragon's cheaper keyboards, and for a reason. The aluminum frame is thin and there is some flex to the center of the keyboard if you press down with moderate to high pressure, albeit very lightweight. The keys are made of thinner, cheaper plastic and the switches appear to be of inferior quality compared to their higher end keyboards. However, the tactile feel of the switches is reassuring. There is also a limited combination of lighting options compared to other Redragon keyboards, but has all your basics. The back-lighting is clear and bright (brightness adjustable). It's plug-and-play; no drivers or software suites necessary. All functions are contained in keyboard macros. For the price of $25, this budget blue switch mechanical keyboard is fantastic. The keys bottom out loudly, much louder than the actual switch, and have a long stroke. I recommend getting two sets of 120 count keyboard o-rings (240 total) and doubling them up (2 rings per key posts). Doing this makes the keyboard feel much higher quality in terms of keystrokes and shortens the perceived actuation. For $8-12, you can turn this $25 keyboard into something that looks and feels like a $50-60 keyboard.Compared to their other lineups, this keyboard does not have the lip around the edge of the base, which makes cleaning it MUCH easier and prevents pet hair/crumbs/dust/gunk from getting trapped between the base and the edge. This keyboard has hardly any extra material on the edge and doesn't have any extra bits that take up more space on your desk. Simple, ergonomic, excellent. I wish Redragon would move towards this design for more of their keyboards. If I could have my K552 without the steel edge, I'd buy it instantly.Material Quality - 3.5/5Price - 5/5Visual Quality - 6/5Build Design - 6/5

Bought this because my Havit with blue switches was way too loud for the quieter office I work in. You could hear it across the building.MUCH quieter, but still had a satisfying deep click when the keys bottom out. If the blue switches are snare drums, the brown switches are wood blocks. The springs in this one are a little loud, but I wouldn't have noticed if another review hadn't drawn my attention to it.Overall this is exactly what I needed when I don't have $120 to spend on another keyboard.

Although I prefer more tactile key switches (Cherry MX Clear or Brown style) my wife prefers the silent Red switch. She LOVES this keyboard, and I was able to show her how to set it up quickly so that different groups of keys light up with different colors. This is a terrific keyboard (our family now owns 3 from Red Dragon). My only complaint is minor: sometimes Red Dragon ships without an external cardboard container to thwart porch thieves. But the company is solid, the keyboards work as promised, and this model even has switches that are swappable (I think they are MX-compatible). I'd buy this again!

I have had this keyboard now for about 6 month and used it daily. I am using it in a work setting (not gaming) because I like the more responsive feel of a mechanical keyboard. This is actually the third mechanical keyboard I have owned. The first is a Redragon K551 with blue switch keys that I also use almost every day. Both are great keyboards and continue to work well. The touch is obviously very different. The blue switches are VERY clicky, as they are supposed to be. The K551 "feels" like it might be a bit more solid, though, again, both have worked flawlessly. It's also nearly 2x as expensive. The third mechanical keyboard was one of those cool round key retro-looking/steam punk keyboard at about this same price range. It was cool looking and the feel was nice. But, because I touch type, my accuracy was awful on it. The shaped key keyboard really does improve speed and accuracy if you touch type. So, if you are actually using this for work, this is a great choice for a keyboard. Also, I just contacted Redragon because I couldn't get the lights to come back on (I was pressing a bunch of keys in a fit of pique since my computer had locked up when it went to sleep and had also discarded the little manual that came with it). Turns out you press Fn-Ins on this keyboard to toggle the LED mode and Fn-Up/Dn to adjust brightness. Anyway, they responded promptly and helped solve the issue.

It is a cheaper alternative for the K552 as the first review said. I had used it for over a year. The keyboard is really solid, but blue switches felt like a machine gun. The red switches in this one feel a lot softer and quieter. The input is certainly faster in games. With the blue switches I sometimes felt that the keystrokes did not register, especially in high elo in LOL. It was not the same. This one is a lot smoother. I like it a lot. Used it for a week when this review was written.PROS:- The backlight is ok. Nothing fancy. Just the set colors you see in the pictures. It has some effects and they look cool. Intensity is okay even in the day.- The Red Outemu Switches (I suppose) feel a lot smoother and lighter than the Blue Outemu Switches. You don't really feel the clickiness compared to the blue ones, but the experience at last is a lot better. Faster response times.- The keyboard is lighter in general, it is lower profile because of the lack of backplate (or a thinner one for that matter, I wouldn't know).- It has a numpad.CONS:- Feels a little cheap. More than the standard Redragon keyboards. Not a bad thing in itself, but keep that in mind. Solid plastic cover, keys are in place and don't wobble. Typing experience is flawless, though.- A thin backplate/lackthereof or loose strings, I do not know, make a tiny bit of high pitched sound when you type, like a quiet snare with panning that is not really noticeable, but when you type faster or harder it does register and can be uncomfortable. If you have headphones, you would never notice.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this board to have low-stakes hardware to practice my modding methods. For the price, it's a very reasonable hot-swap mechanical board.Price cuts hit the usual spots, no Bluetooth or 2.4ghz, all plastic construction and plate, cheap switches. After tape mod, PE foam, case foam, stab grease, lubing, and a new set of caps, this has turned into the thockiest board I own.RGB is fine. I use this in an office so it stays on white backlighting all the time. In an office environment with florescent lights, it's very hard to notice the backlighting. LEDs are north facing, and there's very little shine between the keycaps.Overall, great value for a hot-swap PCB.

Incredible keyboard for the price. I use a mechanical keyboard at home with red switches that I play games on. I wanted a mechanical keyboard for my desk at work and this one works amazingly well. The switches are quiet but you will hear the keys bottoming out. It isn't too loud to annoy the rest of the people in the office. It is miles better than any of the OEM Dell keyboards these computers normally come with. The lights are pretty understated, nothing too crazy. You can turn them off as well if you don't need them.

The media could not be loaded. Whatever "gaming keyboard" means nowadays. The keys make a normal key stroke sound. Nothing mechanically clacky or anything. It has a ridiculous amount of RGB settings. I believe there are 18 in total but you can customize those as well by speed, direction of pattern, etc.

I did think this would be wireless, it was not. I bought the mouse/keyboard combo and saved a few bucks. Still a great product.

My Das Keyboard with blue switches started having intermittent failures after 5 years. I also own a Das Keyboard with brown switches. I bought this Redragon budget board to get by after my Velocifire brown switch board developed the same problems as my Das Keyboard. Overall it has the same feel as the Velocifire and Das Keyboard brown switches. I'm sure there are subtle differences for connoisseurs. It works well for typing and WASD + Space style gaming. I don't play games that require a lot of fancy keyboard work so it's adequate for it's purpose. As others have said the case is plastic, but you likely won't care. This is the first keyboard I've owned where the base of the switches is visible. This design is better than the Das Keyboard since dust and pet hair won't collect between the keys as easily. I don't see the need to pay $150 for another Das Keyboard. Even if I have to buy a new one of these every 2 years it will still be much less than the price of a Das Keyboard over 5 years. For office work and light gaming you can't go wrong with this keyboard.
